I encourage you to read the post and explore all the wonderful information that Mother's Advocate has to share.  I hope you find this information empowering and inspiring as you are guided down your path into and through pregnancy and birth, or as you play the role of support person for another expecting mother.

TOPIC OF THE MONTH:  Remembering to Take Care of YOURSELF After Having a Baby (Such an easy concept, but so hard to do!)

Choosing Euphoric Birth

(as printed in Rogue Valley Parent, Mar. 2008)

For an ecstatic minute we watched as tufts of soft golden baby hair undulated in the warm water, then mom reached down to receive her new baby, birthed into her mother’s hands with a silent whoosh. …. A pink quiet moment of joy, mom and dad holding their 11 pound (!) baby girl, strong and alert from the start.

After five hours of active labor, free of distress or anxiety, free of any hard pushing, free of intervention… this mother’s description was “it just felt wonderful… it felt so good…. I just loved that.”

"Natural Baby Pros is an empowering resource for women who are seeking to be connected with a community of moms and professionals who are passionate about a natural and woman-centered approach to the sacred experience that is motherhood."  Dr. Dayna Blum, DC

"Natural Baby Pros has exploded onto the natural birth scene. They are providing the birth community support and education while also connecting us with the extended birth community. Providing families with contacts of midwifes, acupuncture, birth and postpartum doulas... It was an exciting day spent with speakers, vendors, great food, raffle items and music for the kids. I was delighted to listen to the line up of speakers inform us all on the importance of having our own model for wellness. I am looking forward to being a part of this well put together event again. You will not want to miss out. Great job!!!"     ~Doris Kitchin, doula

"Congratulations Natural Baby Pros! It was a real pleasure to be part of your first ever Fair. It’s so exciting to see such enthusiasm for all things natural, safe and supportive for soon-to-be and new parents! Bringing everyone together in one space demonstrates the wonderful range of services and products that are available. San Diego families are truly blessed to have access to your great resource. I know Natural Baby Pros will go from strength to strength – and I look forward to being involved."     ~Jan Roberts, www.Flurishh.com

"A great natural birthing community with a lot of support for moms and moms-to-be.  Lots of useful information and well spoken and intelligent speakers."

Baby Wearing in Danger?

The Baby Carrier Industry Alliance is a newly formed organization that exists to advance the well-being, growth, and interests of baby carrier manufacturers, importers, distributors, retailers, and educators. It does so through advocacy, public relations, information sharing, industry research, and business development assistance conducted with appreciation for the needs of parents, caregivers, and children.

The aim of the BCIA is to increase awareness of the value of quality baby carriers and to support those in the baby carrier industry. They were formed in 2010 as a 501(c)(6) corporation. As an alliance of industry leaders, the BCIA is organized to propagate standards across the industry, promote educational outreach, participate in research, and help small businesses comply with standards.

Your support is needed; please visit www.babycarrierindustryalliance.org to learn more, share with others who believe in the importance of babywearing, or to join as a member.
